The photography series Abandoned (started in 2023, ongoing) explores places across Croatia that were once vibrant and inhabited but have since been deserted. Through the documentation of these sites, the project reflects on the tension between contemporary life—defined by hyperinformation, acceleration, and constant connectivity—and a not-so-distant past characterized by the slow passage of time, craftsmanship, self-sufficiency, and sustainability. The traces of this former way of life can still be found in Istria, Žumberački Gorje, Gorski Kotar, on the island of Rab, and in other abandoned locations throughout Croatia.
