Trees are personalities, and these are their portraits throughout the mountains, plains, and islands of Croatia. Some of them are strong characters; some are tired, worn out; some are proud, stubborn, and tough; some are fighters; some are winners; and for some, their time has come. Ansel Adams once said, “There are always two people in every picture: the photographer and the viewer.” In this case, we might say there are three: the tree standing in front of you.
